Tomorrow never knows

Today – 30 June 2014 – has a rather bitter taste to it.

Yes, it’s a Monday, but it’s also the date I was planning to resign my job and start my journey to Boston, Philadelphia, or wherever else I might have ended up had things turned out differently.

Instead, I’m experiencing a sensation with which I became very familiar last season. A little bit like a rainbow (bear with me here!).

In my heart I feel sunshine – due to the significant work I’ve done on my applications and to be on my way to somewhere amazing – whereas, in my head, I feel rain – due to the huge amount of work still to be done.

Each milestone passed gives me fresh momentum, yet also makes me realise how long this journey will be. Each question answered gives me a new insight about myself, but also leads to ten more questions.

When I first started my MBA applications, I read that a successful candidate treated the application process like their final exams. Only such focus and determination would ultimately yield the best result.

That’s the spirit that is slowly taking over me. And I’m rising to the challenge!

    Hey there,
I’m a successful admit for Stanford GSB Class of 2016. People keep asking me how I got in and I always say through blogs and forums (that encouragement and sense of community goes a long way). So I was searching for some current blogs from a friend of mine who is applying to B-School and I came across yours…I think it’s so GOOD – clear and personal. Will definitely be forwarding people to your blog. Keep up the good work.
